Environment
We recognise that our business functions have an impact on the environment. Therefore we have developed our “Green Team,” who actively create new ideas to reduce our carbon impact and contribute towards sustaining our environment. Our aim is to strive towards achieving a carbon zero status.
Combining Invoices and Delivery Notes
Whereas most companys have seperate invoices and delivery notes, ours are rolled into one, substantially reducing our paper output. We also email over invoices, as opposed to printing them out and posting them. We can also automatically email invoices as soon as they are produced. As well as benefiting the environment, this allows the customer to get their invoice quicker. This means that with some customers we are completely paperless.
Switching to Environmentally Friendly Equipment
We are continuously reviewing ways in which our equipment can be switched to more environmentally-friendly equipment. We have replaced all of our printers with eco-friendly models which switch to power-saving mode when not in use. All of the toners are part of a recycling programme.
Turning Off Equipment
We turn off all our non-essential equipment at the end of the working day. We also ensure that all lights are switched off when we go home at night.
Reducing Our Paper Usage
We are consistently looking at ways in which we can reduce our paper usage. We now email all invoice requests and statements and minimise any printing. We email over other things, such as price lists.
Recycling Office Materials
We actively recycle as much as possible - cans, glass, cardboard, paper. Right down to our baked bean cans.
In-House Marketing
We produce all of our marketing in-house so we never have to discard out of date literature - we simply update it and only print out what we will use.
Efficient IT Server
We recently purchased a new, more energy-efficient I.T. server.
Weekly Email Newsletter
We have now implemented a new weekly email newsletter. This has several benefits to the environment, such as reducing our paper usage by using emails.
Cycle to Work
Staff are encouraged to cycle to work on a regular basis.
